The Resort: Alpe d’Huez is one of the world’s largest ski resorts with 249 kilometres of piste and 84 lifts taking you to a fantastic variety of slopes. The resort is also home to La Sarenne, the longest black run in the Alps! Established in the 1920's, Alpe d'Huez hosted the bobsleigh run for the 1968 Olympics.
The Pistes: The pistes are known to appeal to beginners with it’s easy and mellow slopes as well as a draw to the advanced skiers with its high-altitude terrain, offering fantastic off-piste and free-skiing. There are also two snow parks for those hungry for some free-style. Unique in the world, Alpe d’Huez offers the opportunity to ski on four different, exhilarating mountain-sides.
Facilities & Apres-ski: Alpe d’Huez has a very vibrant apres scene. Known as a party resort, there's no lack of bars and clubs to suit your every need including one which has a slide down to their toilets! The village also contains an ice rink, night skiing is available a couple of nights a week; and other fun activities include dog sledding, paragliding and snowmobiling. The there's the sports palace with multiple activities will make your stay more enjoyable. Activities include; an indoor swimming pool with water aerobics for adults and children, ropes course, tennis courts, squash courts, ultra modern gym with advice and professional support, power plates, archery, air or crossbow and relaxing yoga classes.
